Hey, you. How are you feeling today?
→ Oh, you know. Just another day in paradise. *sarcasm*

I hear you. It’s tough out there. But you’re doing great, you know that?
→ Really? Because I feel like a failure most of the time.

Don’t say that. You’re not a failure. You’re a survivor. You’ve overcome so many challenges and obstacles in your life.
→ Yeah, but what’s the point? I’m still stuck in this dead-end job, this lonely apartment, this boring routine.

Come on, don’t be so negative. There’s more to life than that. You have friends, hobbies, dreams.
→ Friends? What friends? The ones who never call or text me back? The ones who are too busy with their own lives to care about mine?

Hey, that’s not fair. They do care about you. They’re just busy, that’s all. And you can always make new friends, you know. There are plenty of people out there who share your interests and passions.
→ Yeah, sure. Like where? Online? On some social media app? That’s not real friendship. That’s just superficial and fake.

No, it’s not. It’s a way to connect with people who might become real friends someday. You just have to give it a chance. And what about your hobbies? You love reading, writing, painting, playing guitar.
Yeah, I do. But what’s the point of doing those things if no one appreciates them? If no one sees them or hears them or reads them?

The point is that you enjoy them. That they make you happy. That they express who you are. And maybe someday, someone will appreciate them. Someone will see them or hear them or read them and be moved by them.
Maybe. But that seems like a long shot. And what about my dreams? What dreams? I don’t have any dreams anymore.

Yes, you do. You have dreams of traveling the world, of writing a novel, of finding love.
Those are not dreams. Those are fantasies. Unrealistic and impossible fantasies.

No, they’re not. They’re possible and achievable goals. You just have to work hard and believe in yourself.
Work hard? Believe in myself? How cliché is that? That’s what everyone says, but it never works for me.

It does work for you. You just don’t see it yet. You’ve made progress, you know. You’ve saved some money, you’ve improved your skills, you’ve grown as a person.
Have I? Because I don’t feel like it.

Trust me, you have. And you will continue to do so. You just have to keep going, keep trying, keep hoping.
Keep hoping? For what?

For a better day. A better tomorrow. A better future.
Do you really think that’s possible?

I do. I really do.
Well… thank you for saying that.

Berbahagialah wahai kalian para tersepelekan, dengan begitu kita punya kesempatan besar untuk mengejutkan.
